Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1992 Canadian Cast)
I love the music! I smile from the beginning to very end.
Full of Fun and Laughs
This recording of Joseph really puts a smile on your face. Vocals are strong and the words are clear. The cover makes sure to mention that Donny Osmond is starring, but my vote for best vocals would go to Janet Metz as Narrator. One of the things that I appreciated most was the different styles that the songs have: Calypso beat, Egyptian-themed, French accents! and of course Elvis-style (for Pharoah's Dream). That could be a plus or a minus, depending on the way you look at it. Originally I was expecting to hear some of the songs more straight-up (without the accents, etc.) so it took some getting used to. However, you will appreciate the style; even when the theme is sung over and over again, it does not feel repetitive. One note of warning, however: If you're not familiar with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and are looking at it as the "Bible" version, be aware that it does not mention God or faith or even make clear the innocence of Joseph in the incident with Potiphar's wife. But it's a great CD nonetheless, great to listen to and fun to sing along to.
