Masterpiece

this cd is the best from Metallica, this cd has it all to make your head bang a thousand times. Master of puppets is like my favorite song of all time. the cd is a masterpiece!!

best metal album of all time

Metallica are a band that opened many doors for a lot of fans/bands. They also opened many doors and provided a lot of listeners with a gateway to other more extreme bands. Sadly, much of their material post "the black album" hardly qualifies as heavy metal, but in their prime this band dealt out thrash metal that was second to none! Just listen to "Damage Inc." or "Battery" and even today they still stand up against what has come along.

Master of more than puppets

This album, around the time of its 1986 release, completely changed my perception of what music could be, and overnight I had abandoned my Bon Jovi, Stryper, Ratt, and Cinderella tapes in favor of this new breed of actually HEAVY metal. I still rank this album among my top five of all time favorites, not only for the memories it holds for me, but for the dexterity and precision the music is played. Not one single note is misplaced, even during the last verse of "Disposeable Heroes" for those who have heard the album half as many time as I have. The twenty years since its release have somewhat prepared the general public for the intensity of the music here, since many of the songs can be heard during the daylight hours on many rock stations, and Metallica itself is a household name. Let me put it this way: when _Master Of Puppets_ was released, MTV was huge and making Motley Crue and Bon Jovi even bigger, but Metallica refused to budge and never made a video for any of the songs on this album; the record still went platinum that year, WITHOUT the help of MTV, without the help of massive radio airplay, and without having to compromise their sound. Things have changed since 1986, both with Metallica and MTV, but I'm not going to discuss that here...just buy this CD already!
