Audio CD Description

Bursting at the seams with creative energy, the Clash's stunning 1979 double album more than made up for the artistic and commercial disappointment of its predecessor, 1978's tried-too-hard

Comments From Our Customers

Sorry but it is kind of overrated

I bought this album because, well, I heard it was one of the hands down best rock albums ever produced. The Clash even had the title "The only band that matters". I dunno. I won't launch into a diatribe of what is or what isn't punk rock, but I just don't find London Calling a very meaty offering, and I like my music to have meat.

Greatest album ever - uncompromisingly genius!!

Its this simple- its the greatest album ever. From the songs to the words to guy stevens production to topper headons amazing drumming to the rock ska punk reggae party political. If you dont own it or like it- well i dont know what to say really!! London calling combines punk energy with every great rocknroll lick- note that was ever played. Ps take some time to read the lyric sheet- what a clever truthful cat strummer was. Ofcourse all credit to mick jones too- and for simonons kingston inspired bass. It was truly a pivotal moment in rock history!!! my fav standout tracks- london calling- death or glory- clampdown- the right profile-lost in the supermarket(for the words).

One of the alltime great albums

The holy grail of early punk. Along with the first Clash album, an undeniable classic. It has a reputation, to the unititaed of being a rough disc. In actuality, it is great, melodic, kick butt record. If you like rock, do not hesitate to buy the this.
