Audio CD Description

For an artist who only released four proper albums in a 15-year career, it's astounding to recall how many hits Whitney Houston was able to achieve. The two CDs on

Comments From Our Customers

Hits and misses is more the correct title

If you read the linear notes to this CD, you will discover that Whitney is very proud of this compilation and feels they got it 'just right'. I don't think so. I have the UK version which is supposed to be better but like so many other reviewers, cannot believe the rubbish on CD 2. It is full of remixes instead of the original versions we are used to. I mainly bought this hoping to get the original version of "I'm your baby tonight" but it was not there, nor did it state that it was the remix. There are two versions of this song on this CD and they are both remixes - only one of these versions is mentioned as being a remix. "Queen of the Night" is also a different version to what was released back in 1992. Also missing is her duet with Maria Carey (When you Believe). My advice is to buy it and burn your own single CD with the songs you like and throw out the shocking Disc 2. Better still, just buy her first album which is by far, her very best. Has anybody else noticed that the original version of "The Greatest Love of All" was remixed before being released as a single in 1986? Listen to the better version on her first album and you will see what I mean (it has beautiful piano at the beginning).

Clearly NOT a Greatest Hits CD Package

The first CD in the package is a "Greatest Hits" CD. The second CD in the package was nothing but unheard hip hop stuff and a couple of her hits with the hip hop rythm added to it.

Should be Called 'The Remixes' not 'Greatest Hits'

I bought this cd many years ago and just now feel the urge to write a review. I was so disappointed. I mean the original versions of these songs are good but after listened to half a disc I felt remixed out. The remixes become boring and just left me thirsty for the original versions. Also did not like the way the songs were broken out. One disc is supposed to be mellow and the other is supposed to be jamming but after listening to the disc I wondered why songs appeared on the wrong disc. There is no flow on these cds. I am still waiting for the proper greatest hits while this one gathers dust. Not recommended.
