Audio CD Description

David Gray's glorious fourth record explodes in a wellspring of spacious, electronica-tinged folk-pop. He uses his bright growl of a voice to memorable effect, chewing on vowel sounds while spinning odes to lost love, the resiliency of young hearts, and the pain of experience. Gray's work finds the universality at the heart of folk music and tweaks it just enough to make it relevant for alternative audiences.

Comments From Our Customers

excellent

puchased for a friend. i have owned it since it's original release. great new musician from the uk.

better live

heartfelt and gorgeous soundscapes that take you into other worlds. It is impressive to see many of these songs performed live, wherein I hold the five star rating.

Best CD of the Year in my house

I heard Gray on LiveIreland.com. Yeah, he's not Irish. But the Welsh are close enough in my blood. Bought the CD. Listened to it over and over. I keep feeling I've gotten a CD from an illegimate offspring of Dylan, Mitchell, or some of those wonderful folky acts from "my generation." The lyrics are sometimes obtuse, sometimes strained, but never seem forced. This is so much better than the trash on the radio.
