This cd is so good I really love it has great tunes, For some how I have never herd of this artist I herd her on the "Some things gotta give" (sound track) I herd "so nice" on that cd I fell in love with it so I went to amazon.com and saw her cd and I love all most every song on the cd!! If you are a fan get this cd if you have never herd of her and you like jazz samba this is the right cd for you "Girl From Ipmaniea" is a good song "Photograph" is one of my favorite...

For fans old and new

I discovered the music of Astrud Gilberto while searching for something decent to listen to on the radio. The result of my endeavor produced "The Girl From Ipanema" (Track 2), which made me a fan of Astrud Gilberto ever since. I learned later that songs like hers have been ambiguously termed 'adult standards' by the music industry. While the choice of genre name seems questionable, one cannot deny the musical virtuosity and 'complex simplicity' that is Astrud Gilberto.

I am new to Astrud Gilberto. I did a brief research about what would be a good "first" CD of hers to get. And I found that this specific CD had good reviews. I wasn't dissapointed by the reviews. I loved the CD. Good variety of songs, each of them good. It gives you a good representation of Astrud's career.
