Audio CD Description

Everything about Tool's fourth album is an experience, starting with the packaging, which consists of liner credits printed on a translucent plastic sleeve over the CD and a booklet that layers anatomical representations atop one another--the first page pictures musculature and blood vessels; the next, bones; the third, internal organs; and so on. Took a while to grow on me but...

I remember being very disappointed when this album first came out...It just seemed worse than Aenima and Undertow, and many other Tool fans felt the same way. But after many listens it grew on me, especially after seeing the songs performed live. I think something about the production of this album is off for me, but the songs are unbelievable...I love this CD now. Not my favorite Tool, hence why it gets four stars, but still amazing.

Excellent, but Tool's worst album

I like it a lot but it's just not up there with Opiate, Undertow, 10,000 days, and especially Aenima (dont know how to do the old english thing). Still, this album surrounds you like a storm, it radiates with a positive energy, and it is truly an album you can feel. It has more of a buzzing bee sound than tools other albums. Its great, for any other band it would get 5 stars. But its just not quite as good as Tool's other albums.
