| Audio CD Description Not content with the simplistic "crossover" formula, superstar tenor Andrea Bocelli has been pursuing alternative paths since he emerged as a vocal phenomenon in the mid-1990s: operatic classics and contemporary popular song. The singer's last few albums have showcased his love for the former (including homages to his beloved Verdi: the |

Wife loves this cd! Ok, guys hate chick flicks right? I would categorize this as a chick cd. My wife loves this guy. Let's just say it's a great mood setter as well. Because of that I have to give this guy five stars. The guy has a tremendous voice. I grew up on Pavarotti, but Bocelli can belt out a song. My wife likes the fact that he's not to "opera-ish." Also own Romanza and Sogno.
A masterpiece from a truly great entertainer. Cieli Di Toscana is one of my top half-dozen favorite music albums, and I own hundreds, of various genres from Bach to rock. This album is very different from Romanza. Not that I don't like Romanza, but after "Con Te Partiro", that album is all downhill. (Kind of hard to match an opening track like that, no?) Not so with Cieli Di Toscana; this album is beautiful music from start to finish; every track is a masterpiece. In this album, Bocelli proves himself a great, great Italian popular-music singer. In Cieli, Bocelli makes especially good use of the lower registers of his voice, which are rich, sonorous, and endlessly varied in tone. This album is quieter and more laid-back than Romanza. But why shouldn't it be? Who cares whether Andrea Bocelli has the technical prowess as a tenor of a Caruso or a Coreli? That's not what he's all about. This man is a lover, a poet, and an entertainer. He knows how to reach out and touch hearts all over the world, and he does so powerfully on this album. My favorite tracks are the poignant "Il Mistero Dell Amore", the quiet "Chiara", and the playful "Il Diavolo e l'Angelo". All in all, a great romantic album from a truly great entertainer.
What more is there to say? Absolutely beautiful....Andrea's awesome voice that can be both powerful and tender at the same time. |
