Easy to listen to
I usually don't like this kind of music that much, but I love this album. The overall sound is just great. The main thing on this album are the songs. Every song is really good on this album. I don't know why people use the term "Lounge Music", it makes good bands sound soo blah, this is no lounge band. Years ago they would be called "Progressive", a much better term for Zero 7. I would say this is mature pop oriented music, something that is easy to listen to if you don't like top 40 stuff. The real standouts are the good vocalists that Zero 7 has chosen to use in their music. "Distractions," and "Destiny" are two of the most beautiful and haunting songs I've ever heard. "In the Waiting Line" is also great. I have been recommend this album to people I know who are looking for something different. I don't know why so many people find fault with this album, it's really a good album all the way
Great CD
Every song on this album is so good. I find myself going back to this CD time after time. Musically, this CD is layered from beginning to end with dreamy songs, and the production isn't mired in an orchestral overkill. In this remarkably cool album, Zero 7 defined its sound as one of urban solitude, misty streets, and warm soundscapes. Some other good CD's to check out are by Hooverphonic, Frou Frou, Morcheeba, SpiceHouse and Massive Attack .
Mature, evolved, soulful, varied
Mature electronica. Lyrics weren't just written to sound good, but have quite some meaning. Different, but not odd. More melancholic than cheery, but in context. Zero 7, as a band, is evolved.
