Audio CD Description

In 1994 Cash stunned the music world with this commanding collection of 13 solo acoustic performances that roll from gospel to cowboy to sarcastic folk. Minimalism had long been Cash's meal ticket, but this time around, producer Rick Rubin stripped it

Comments From Our Customers

The Man In Black Forever!

The start of the american years (1994-2004) for Johnny Cash. This is the one I love most it's Cash stripped down the way he sounded best. This record features song's like Leonard Cohen's "Bird On A Wire",Danzig's "Thirteen" and a few Cash originals. The final four records from Cash were the most truthful, soul searching albums ever. Each one is a small glimpse of the talented soul who recorded them. A soul I miss everyday but I know Johnny and June Are watching us enjoy the musical legacy they left us. For me the voice was what it was all about nobody sounded like the man in black or can ever come close to filling his black boots.

Thank God For Rick Rubin

Johnny Cash was a favorite of mine since his TV show days.

best cd i own--equivalent to Dark Side of the Moon

I can't say how good this one is. Moved me more than anything I've heard in 15 years.
