Comments From Our Customers

Highs and lows

Rod seems to not be able to hit the high notes without making it sound strained. His low notes sound a bit rusted..sort of gravelly and raw. However, this album is great for a Rod Stewart fan. It's always nice to hear a famous artist step out of his or her 'safe' zone. Very nice to sit back and close your eyes.

Rod, you are a star turned to dust

Is it really worth it? I mean sacrifice your reputation which you worked for 30 years for another million bucks.

Great songs, just the right pace

I heard about this album ages ago on a Larry King show interview with Stewart. Wasn't sure I like his voice enough to get the record. But, it's terrific! Songs I know but hadn't heard for years "We'll have Manhattan.." and "I can't get started with you." for example. Each song in those days had a little "introduction" of several lines...when you first listen, don't review the titles on the package, see if you can guess the upcoming song. Best of all for me, who is "alone" these days, though the songs are mostly romantic, he keeps the pace up so that they not too dreamy and "sad" but rather spirit-lifting.
