| Audio CD Description Shania Twain--recluse, happily married, mother of one--has sold more than 40 million albums with flirty, hook-laden, beat-heavy, country-tinged pop that has all the subtlety of a musical wet T-shirt contest, yet is as irresistible as Swiss chocolate and Pringles. There are a few heartfelt, moon-in-June love ballads on this generous and long-awaited 20-song collection, which includes three new songs along with all the predictable chart-toppers and near-chart-toppers. But it's the mostly nonstop, uptempo booty-shakers--too often with garish overproduction and vapid lyrics--that, for the unconverted, tend to run together after a while. No doubt, this relentlessly upbeat retrospective will keep Twain's millions of fans jumping up and down on their sofas. |

some good hits... This CD features some good songs, but contrary to what other reviewers have said here, this is no a "complete" hits cd. For one thing, it contains no songs whatsoever from her debut album, the self titled "Shania Twain". Ok, so that album wasn't as big as "Come on over" or "woman in me", but that was what first broke here into the country market. I guess that album is now considered "too country", too bad, because it was a good album and "What made you say that" still is one of her better moments, as is "dance with the one that brought you" I remember hearing those songs on country stations in the early 1990's and loved them and I feel they belong on this collection.
I LISTEN TO IT EVERYDAY!! Although i'm not a big fan of country music, i fell in love with this cd, it was so many great songs, and eventhough i didn't like very much the "that dont't impress me much" dance version, it's the best cd of Shania Twain. a MUST buy!! all her songs are great!!
I love this CD! This is one of my favorite CD's. If you're not sure if you really want to buy it, you defenitly should. |
