Engaging but not Captivating

This is a warm, engaging album with each song flowing easily to the next. I bought this album out of curiosity as I had heard of Jack Johnson but was unfamiliar with his work. The album has a relaxed feel with feelgood tracks of love and life. Recorded and produced at his own studio in Hawaii, and it shows in the relaxed mood of the album. His voice has an intimacy and charm that feels as if he could be sitting right there next to you. It won't have you dancing and it won't set the world alight but it does leave a slow, smouldering glow that will linger....Difficult not to like this album but it will never be a classic...

Great Mellow Album

I'm not a popular music fan, although I buy current "hits" to just keep abreast of current music. This album showed up on a college student chart as being number one, so what the heck.

His best yet

I absolutely adore this cd and so does everyone I turn on to it. The first two cds had too intrusive of a drum beat, but this cd is perfect. I can't stop listening to it. It makes me feel calm and relaxed, and the lyrics are excellent. I have become a huge fan. I enjoyed seeing him perform at the 2006 Brit Awards. I hope the Grammies will also reward him.
