Excellent 2nd CD.
WOW! I love it when artists come back the second time around with an even stronger effort. That's what Dierks Bentley has done with Modern Day Drifter. His vocals are crisp and clean and his lyrics to just about every track are the 'stuff' of great writing and composition. Dierks is a naturally sensual man and he makes the most of it in his art and craft. In short, he's smart and uses his God given gifts. Most artists fail in that insight.
I am hooked
First time I have heard his music and I love it...some songs are a little twangy, but overall - great CD!
a true identity
At long last here's Dierks's long awaited second album... After hits like " What was I thinkin'" or "Train Travelling" our expectations were high. If the first CD presented some items a little too calm, here from the start with "Lot of Leavin' Left to Do" we're in the swing of things. It moves and it's good. Dierks has a true identity in his voice. He is among the artists you can spot in five seconds. Altogether the album has more rhythm even if we have some gorgeous ballads like "Good Things Happen" not to be underrated. A banjo, invariably, to give the mood ("Easy Street"), Honky Tonk, Rock `n Roll ("So So Long"). A superb album ranking Bentley in country music's top singers. The melodies are all beautiful, one after the other. And the cherry on top, a new duet with Del Mc Coury ("Good Man Like Me"); And Dierks stands out as a happy man; He sounds as if he was laughing when he sings. He puts you in a good mood.Great music, top notch solos ("Lot of Leavin' Left to Do") This is some album! Real good!
