I never thought I'd purchase a Keyshia Cole cd. I heard "I should have cheated" and that was ok but when "Love" started getting airplay I didn't like it and thought nothing else about it. This is crazy but I was reading Eric Jerome Dickey's new novel "Chasing Destiny" and in the afterward he goes on and on about how "off the chain" Keyshia Cole's cd is and how he's rockin it on a daily basis. When your favorite author raves about a cd, you gotta pick it up. Thanks to EJD I'm a Keyshia Cole fan. My favorites on the cd are "I thought you had my back" and "You've changed". This cd has been in my car cd player since I bought it. I've told my friends to pick this cd up because it's worth the money. Keyshia should thank EJD for endorsing her because sales are going to go up without a doubt.

Fantastic Singer - The Way It Is

22 year old Keyshia Cole is one of these new artists that I heard alot about before eventually checking out, and needless to say, I'm glad I did cause there is something special about her for sure. Cole, a native of Oakland had a hard time growing up at fosterhome and spent alot of time on the rough streets as a child, she found relief in music and started singing already in her preteens and apparently appeared on a Mc Hammer record aswell and several others before eventually making her own music. However, now at 24 she goes from negative to positive and with a little help from great contemporary producers/singers like Kanye West, Ron Fiar with others the result is a fantastic debut. "The Way It Is" is a record that tells the truth about her real life experiences, mostly about love going bad (Troubled relationships, infedelity but also about payback) there is little time left for happy feeling good songs and thanks god Keyshia is going her own way and not making a trillion of club songs with guest rappers. Infact, she co-wrote all of the songs which makes the album even more trusthworthy. If that isn't enough to convince you, Keyshia also got a unique and stunning voice that really grabs you and make you want to hear more. Keyshia Cole is defenitely going to stay for long.
