Quite nice

The relatively spare format of this disc, recorded with members of the North Mississippi Allstars, suits this particular batch of songs really well...I've always enjoyed the "less is more" approach with respect to Mr. Hiatt...And this is an above average set of songs for him. I'm not a knee-jerk fan per se, though I think JH is capable of some stone-brilliant songwriting. It's just that some of his stuff strikes me as distinctly middling sometimes.

John Hiatt is an incredible musician, songwriter, singer and artist, and this album is spectacular. Full of wisdom, wicked humor, great guitar licks and lots of heart.

Other than the title track, this CD might grow on me, but then again maybe not.
