3-1/2 stars -- A decent but unlikely comeback
I was a little surprised to learn that the All-American Rejects made as big a comeback as they did. True, they did sustain some success with "Swing, Swing" off their self-titled album, but after that they kind of dropped out of sight. Plus, other not-too-hard-not-too-soft rock bands didn't do too well with sophomore album sales: Hoobastank's The Reason didn't last long on the charts after the title track lost fire (even though it IS a good album), and Jimmy Eat World's Futures was so uninteresting that I never even finished listening to it. At any rate, the Rejects indeed proved successful with the aptly titled Move Along.
Move Along
"Move Along" is a very mature release from The All-American Rejects. The songs are catchy. Singer/Bassist Tyson Ritter deffenately knows how to write a good song.
Good comeback album
Fall 2002- AAR's first album is released on an indie label. Winter 2003- AAR's first album is picked up by Dreamworks and re-released. Spring 2003- AAR were all over radio and MTV with the song "Swing Swing". Following that they had 2 other minor hit singles, then disappeared. Thats right- nobody heard a damn word from these guys for over 2 years. Then in late summer 2005, they released this. Their comeback single, "Dirty Little Secret", shot them back up on the charts, and is still in heavy rotation to this day. "Move Along" is also a big hit right now.
