Can't get much better than this

I thought it would be impossible for Switchfoot to follow up the Beautiful Letdown (2004), which sold 2 million copies world wide, with another incredible album but that's exactly what they did. After picking up this CD, the day it came out, I soon found out that Jon Foreman and the rest of the boys are true geniuses. The albums fourth track "The Shadow Proves the Sunshine" is one of the most beautfiful songs ever written by man (I know it sounds a little too much, but just listen to it three times, you'll see). And it doesn't stop there. The entire record is incredible. I can't really put it into words. You just have to pick it up and listen. It will change your life. It changed mine and I am counting the days until their next album hit the stores.

We Are One Tonight [=

Stars, the first song I heard off the album, (or maybe another one, but I don't remember), I loved it.. I loved the video.. I loved the whole song. I couldn't wait till Sept. 13. My mom took the CD away from me on Sept. 12 and I was grounded because I did my report "at the last minute" so I barely got to listen to it. Then I started listening to it. People on the message boards started coming in like crazy. "THE FATAL WOUNDS A SUICIDE SONG!!" I was like "yeah right" then in december I listened to it for the first time REALLY listening to it. And I could see how they could think that. THEN i realized "It's Switchfoot" Oh and Easier than Love. Oh my butter, they say sex. So does Fallout Boy but you don't critizise them. People either think Switchfoot is Christian or NOT Christian.. whichever it is, it's an excuse not to listen to them. They don't want to go through the songs. See what Jonathan Foreman is REALLY trying to say. Basically my opinion on the songs is this. Lonely Nation, was my first favorite song. I heard clips on it on the internet and I loved it. Stars- well, I loved it, and I still love it.. it's a good song. Happy is a Yuppie word- one of the best on the album.. The Shadow Proves the Sunshine- This song made me cry the first time I watched Nothing is Sound's Dual Disc. Easier than Love- I love this song cause it's so true. The Blues- awesome.. The Setting Sun- My third favorite song on the album.. Politicians- This song, is awesome. Switchfoot did a GREAT job. it's my 5th.. Golden= my second favorite song.. The Fatal Wound- I love this song, We Are One Tonight- my favorite song everrr Daisy- Awesome

Switchfoot is Sound

It's over two years since 'The Beautiful Letdown' was released and in the interim the band have played to a million people and sold three million copies of the album. No mean feat! It also means that this is one of the most eagerly anticipated new albums of the year. The guys manage to walk the line between artistry and ministry, rock and pop to create an album that is simultaneously immediate and yet manages to reveal depth with each new play. Jon Foreman's lyrics still make your heart ache and prod at the vulnerable areas of human existence and our search for meaning and happiness. He still manages to point people towards the eternal without loading his lyrics full of clich?. In short, this is great work for those already converted by the previous release. "Easier Than Love" is a punchy examination of the cheapening of sex in contemporary culture whilst "The Setting Sun" looks beyond the brokenness of contemporary life to somewhere bigger and better where healing can take place. I love the catchiness of songs like "We Are One Tonight" and "Stars" which are propelled along at a pace and display the way the band manage to balance melody with a rocky edge to fine effect. "Nothing Is Sound" is the spirit of "The Book Of Ecclesiastes" set to a rock'n'roll beat and fed to the MTV generation. Let's hope it shakes up some souls! Topping 'The Beautiful Letdown' was always going to be a challenge and this superb set does the business!
