I slept half way through...
I hope and pray the next Evanescence CD flops, so that we can stop seeing bands as obnoxiously bad as this surfacing. Nothing original, nothing intelligent, quite simply nothing great about this album. Personally I would rather have freshly sharpened pencils jabbed into my ears than to ever have to listen to this girls voice ever again.
Give Me A Break
Flyleaf is the biggest joke of a rock band to have ever existed. Their vocalist sounds like Advil Lavigne on some type of drug, and the background music sounds exactly like something that you'd hear on the radio. It's nothing great, just derivative garbage that will end up in the secondhand bin along with all those other nu-metal CD's I saw when I was there last.
great new band
i heard "im so sick" on the radio and couldn't help but turn it up. i listened for the name of the band after the song was over but they didn't say it. this happened three more times over the next few weeks and finally i called them. i downloaded the entire cd off of limewire and discovered an amazing band. i just now ordered the cd and can't wait for it to get here. the vocalist has a singing voice 10 times better than the lead singer of evenescence and a scream 10 times better than the lead singer of kitty. the guitars are not only hard and crunchy but chatchy. the bass is driving and if it is turned up loud enough, the drums make you want to bang your head. there are two softER songs on this album (notice i didn't say soft. there aren't any of those) which are, in a word, breathtaking. this woman sings about addiction, pain, hatred, overcoming obstacles, love, and even her faith (which is something that i respect because it is so contovrtial). each song on the album is good enough to be a single.
