Thought I died and went to heaven......
Arguably my 2 all-time favorite artists collaborating on a full album!!! I've been a longtime fan of ELH, having almost all of her work. I've also been a fan of Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler early on. I have heard them together before on a limited basis. As such, for me at least, this is not a NEW discovery but rather the unique melding of 2 of the best individual talents that exist.
Awesome guitar work and serious rock and roll
This is truly a great CD. Mark Knopfler is a guitar genius and his work with Dire Straits defined a generation on MTV. The songs are timeless- both the oldtimers who grew up listening to this music as well as the youngsters experiencing 'Sultans of Swing' in guitar class will love it.
Titanic talent on display with fine career overview
Mark Knopfler, in my opinion, ranks right up there with Eric Clapton as a King of the Stratocaster; a true guitar hero and master if there ever was one. And, like Clapton, his appeal is not only in his stellar playing, but also in his bluesy, soulful singing voice.
