Eve & The Original Sin!
The cover featuring Shakira 'Eve & The Original Sin' is a classic theme that basically attributes to Even one more reason to bite the forbidden fruit-that would be her oral fixation: That's Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, Latin America's most successful pop female crossover artist and my fav, I rave for Shakira! She sways so provocative with the most sexiest dazzling flare but thats how she grew up dancing as music flow naturally in her veins. Her Hips don't Lie is number one song in my Chart followed by Hey You and Illegal with the classic Carlos Santana playing on sexiest guitar strings. Hips don't lie is Rapped vocals from Wyclef Jean and Shakira's familiar Spanish-accented is rocking, Dance like this....very groovy. The way she rolls her back and moves her hips, well it's a workout all in itself in its latest video of Hips don't lie. How do you do is just a bunch of questions we wonder as human beings. Animal city chills with inventive moments with her loud vocals too good to resist. Overall, I'd say - Laundry Service was Great but Oral Fixation Vol 2 (included Hips don't lie) is Best of the Best and *Five Stars* A more matured and focused Shakira who is much in touch with a woman inside her - delightful to the sense. A must Pick. Just Chill.
Don't like new greedy marketing
I'm an over 40 Shakira fan, probably somewhat of a rarity. This CD is not as good as her Laundry Service, but has some bright moments. I like Timor and can picture the little dance she would do to it. What I don't like, however, is this new ploy where she recorded "Hips Don't Lie", and you have to either buy the CD all over again or download it. I don't really do MP3, since I have kids and don't use it on my stereo. It's just obnoxious to do this, whether it's as a test or not. I, of course, won't buy the CD again, nor will I bother to download it. I have a Mac, and her website for the download of the video didn't support Mac. I know she and her people want to be progressive, but leaving us old fogeys in the cold is not smart, especially considering we have more disposable dollars and buy concert tickets and music also, although our tastes are more discriminating...giggle.
Not Impressed
I don't know what I was expecting. Most of the lyrics were beautiful and kind of emotional, but I just didn't really like any of the tunes, with exception of "Hips Don't Lie", the only ones that caught my attention were "Timor", "Dreams For Plans" and "Something". Her mind is brilliant as evidenced by her word choice but this album was really very dark and melancholy. While I enjoy darkness in tunes...I don't want to be bogged down in it. If anyone wants a free CD - email me. I'll be glad to mail it to ya. Sorry if I hurt you fans, but that is my honest opinion.
