Tightly executed hommage to Sam Cooke, Ray Charles

In a song from long ago, Van Morrison tells us that he spent his youth listening to American blues on the Armed Forces Network (AFN) in Europe. Hunter's listening must have come a generation later, when soul music was just finding its own voice in the late 1950s.

I buy, borrow, loan and download a ton of stuff all year. This may be derivative, retro or whatever the hell else you wan't to call it. You can't use those words to criticize this stuff for the simple reason that it is done to perfection here. Tasteful playing, smooth as silk vocals ( with a good couple yelps thrown in for good measure) applied to some great original tunes adds up to the best thing I've bought all year. I @#%* you not!

Intriguing Stuff

I didn't want to like it. Yet I do. He is smooth and yet has a certain roughness to him. Yeah, this is good stuff. I can see a wide appeal for sure. Recommended!
