Audio CD Description

While the rest of the Wu-Tang Clan now seems a faint memory from hip-hop's '90s era, Ghostface has become a one-man force in maintaining the vitality of the Clan. The way he opens Fishscale with the frantic, hyperactive "Shakey Dog," is all the evidence you'd need to see how Ghost is that rare MC who's gotten better with age. His jumble of colorful wordplay is now honed into a sharp edge of drug-game narratives ("R.A.G.U."), neighborhood stories ("Barbershop"), honeyed pimp talk ("Big Girl") and braggadocio raw enough to melt minds ("Be Easy"). Backing him up are both familiar partners-in-rhyme like Raekwon (who sounds his best in years), Cappadonna, and Trife and also a surprising squad of underground producers that includes Just Blaze, Pete Rock, MF Doom, and the late J-Dilla. One of the skit quips that Ghost hasn't been this focused since Supreme Clientele, his 2000 classic; that's no joke--this is his best since then.

Comments From Our Customers

Five Stars!!!

It is a really good release from Ghostface is as good as Supreme Clientele? No, its almost equal but falls a bit short from that. Listen to them both back to back and compare them for yourself. Its without a doubt one of the best LP's of the year, that much you can count on.

Ghostface is back in a major way

I was a little skeptical about getting this cd. Boy I am glad I decided to purchase it. This is like listening to a movie. The stories along with the beats are a compliment to each other. My favorite track is underwater. How creative is that. Excellence is all I can say.

This CD SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5 stars?

this is not coming from a hater. i am one of the biggest wu-tang fans out there. i have all of ghostfaces' CDs and trust me this album sucks. i've gotten into many arguements over ghost and wu-tang (always on their side). i bought this garbage the 1st day it dropped for $6.99 and believe me that was too much after listening to it (i should have downloaded it). it was advertised as having 24 for tracks (which it does). out of those 24, there are like 7 skits. there are a few songs that are like 1 minute and change. some of you are talking about his beats, his beats are crap. the song with wu-tang lacks cohesion. it sounds like they did there verses seperately or just went to the studio, dropped there verses then bounced. after SHAKEY DOG, i skip to WHIP YOU WITH A STRAP, then i skip to BE EASY, CLIPSE OF DOOM. JELLYFISH is cool but cappadona ruins it. DOGS OF WAR is also hot. BARBERSHOP is fly, my man is rhyming about getting a haircut. NOTICE I DID NOT MENTION SONGS 3-10. 3 BRICKS FEAT BIGGIE is the wackest track on the album. it really pissed me off when i heard it. let's not talk about the beat (if that is what you want to call it). PUFF DADDY, PUFFY, P DIDDY, DIDDY or whatever the hell your name is, how many times are going to recycle biggies' lyrics??? aren't you guys tired of hearing the same biggie rhymes? on the bright side, you can't go wrong with ghosts' lyrics. that is a talent he can't lose.
