Simply Amazing

After seeing the Flaming Lips perform at a live sold out show, on the date this was released was absolutly amazing. Personally to the reviews that state that Mystics isnt as good as Yoshimi its just like any band that tries a new sound or a new style the fan base will always change, but i think that it also has to do with live performance i dont think i would enjoy Mystics as much as i do after seeing them live.

The state of modern music

I hate when people bash new or modern bands and then tell people to listen to older bands not part of our generation or culture. Like when people say "Nickelback and Green Day suck, go listen to Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd" or something along those lines. I recently graduated from high school where believe it or not there are more classic rock fans than at most baby boomer parties. I think part of that has to deal with the fact that: 1. Classic rock IS much better than modern music of all genres, so it's not like they are lying, and 2. People listen to bands like Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd like they are underground and unpopular when in fact more people still know stairway to heaven and another brick in the wall than any no.1 pop hit from our time you can sing, and that applies especially to the youth.
