Stairway to Paranoid
This band is so influenced by Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath they might as well haved named themselves "Black Zeppelin". The singer should just admit he's imitating R. Plant.
Good, not great; fun, but nothing original
I guess I should stop the review there, considering I've summed up my appreciation for this band.
This is SO COOL!
Oh my. Where do I start? I can't say how much I love this stuff. I'm only worried I'm gonna wear this out too fast. I can't stop playing it. The thing is, this type of music is not easy to wear out (that's the only comparison to classic rock I can write-- but if they've got more under their sleeve like this CD, they WILL be a Classic Rock Band---let's hope they've got 30 years before that happens--). I've seen people put 1975 as a timestamp on this type of music, but I don't agree. Look at 1975 for a second. For the most part, 1975 was not that good. In those days, you had to search for good Rock. This music is retro only in the fact that it is more ROCK AND ROLL than most people have heard in many years. Not alternative, not punk, not grunge, and not the same nu-metal they've been hearing from 99.9% of the bands today. Oh ya, and it's not another Alice in Chains rip-off. I really hope the days of Alice in Chains rip-offs stop very SOON (even more annoying than the hair band days).
