Live With Me Video

You can never go wrong with a Massive Attack disc (although 100th Window was their one departure from greatness in my humble opinion). They are pure genius. Anyone who tells me they don't like them is always met with a look of disbelief on my face. I'd give my sister's next child away for the chance to see them live (sorry sis!). They picked the best songs from their past albums and scored a home-run with this one. Worth every penny.

get it for "I Against I"

Mezzanine was for me the best album of the 90s, and is a top desert island disk. This "best of" will not usurp it. Any fan will already have everything from this collection with the exception of the new track "Live With Me," which is frankly disappointing. That means the only version to get is this "deluxe limited edition". Having all the videos is cool (though they're cryptic and many are boring. My fave is probably Karmacoma.How often are you gonna watch them anyway?). So that makes the extras CD layer the only real boon. Well, how is it? Merely pretty good. Most are nice alternate versions of favorites, with few genuinely new tracks. The grand exception is "I Against I" with guest rapper Mos Def, which is worth the price of the whole kit n' kaboodle alone. And that's why this gets 5 stars.

Attack

Listening to Massive Attack brings me spasms of joy. A great group and album. Massive Attack alongside Gorrilaz, Enigma, Chambre Noir, and Depeche Mode sure bring the stink out of mainstream radio. If only they would play more songs from these groups radio would not be dead.
