| Audio CD Description The soundtrack to the biggest Latin American hunk-fest film of 2005, this 16-track collection is the best that the Spanish language alternative music scene has to offer. The story revolves around a wife who decides to trade an unsatisfying marriage for a clandestine affair with her husband's poet brother. Appropriately, the songs exude the hopefulness of initial romantic attraction, the sexiness of when the connection is consummated, and the chaos of when things turn bad. Kudos to A&R guy Terry Borden for picking the material, but the bands really deliver the goods. Tanghetto's techno-tango version of New Order's dance floor classic "Blue Monday" is absolute fun without losing the unstoppable groove of the original. The Pinker Tones "TMCR Grand Finale" is brown-eyed soul of the highest order, and Aterciopelados singer Andrea Echeverri's "Baby Blues" is a strong intimate effort from this star. As far as soundtracks go, this is on a par with the great |

Incredible soundtrack with great electronica I picked this album up after hearing Tanghetto's incredible electro-tango cover of the New Order classic "Blue Monday" on KCRW. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. This soundtrack is a great survey of today's Latin electronic music scene - I really enjoyed the cuts from Nortec Collective, Mexican Institute of Sound, and The Pinker Tones.
